Michael Moore just made a surprise appearance in our theatre. He walked by me, about 12 inches away. I was gonna pat him on the back but I thought security might take me out. He got a standing ovation.
That was cool.

No sooner did. Merchant Of Venice finish than we had to run outside ’round the other side of the building to line up for Hotel Rwanda. We’re now in the Visa Lounge, scarfing free chocolate and sucking back much-needed caffeine.
They just announced that, due to traffic problems, the stars were late arriving and the movie won’t start for “several more minutes”.
I wonder what kind of traffic problems they were referring to? Nyuk nyuk nyuk.
Ah, the Elgin Theatre, our spiritual film festival home. I’ve missed you. We’re just waiting for The Merchant Of Venice to get underway.
Undertow was good. Not great, good. More later.
Ok, so 4 hours of sleep doesn’t feel so good. At least we weren’t drinking. Anyway, with a little Tim Horton’s muffin in our bellies we’ll be right as rain. We’re now in line for Undertow. I no longer have any recollection of what this movie’s about.
I’ll try to post some actual reviews between movies and post-hockey game.
Man…that was one fucking scary movie.
Must sleep now.
Sitting in Ryerson Theatre now, waiting for Creep to start. I love Midnight Madness crowds.
I’ll post reviews tomorrow. Maybe. Whenever I find time.
We’re sitting at 7 West next to Liane Balaban and other people from her new movie 7 Times Lucky.
Update: Gord Pinsent, Tamara Hope and (presumably) other people from Saint Ralph were across the room.
2 tonight, 3 tomorrow and 2 on Sunday. I’m in line for Les Revenants as I type this, so I apologize for any formatting problems — these updates are coming from my Blackberry.
Our 2nd movie ends tonight around 2:30, and we have a 9:00 AM movie tomorrow. Pray for me.
…”Fairlee” by Matt Pond PA. I’m in real danger of burning myself out on the song.
