And he’s right; her name will be associated with abortion by saintly patrician overseers, not one of whom will invoke her memory in defense of an unjustly sentenced inmate on death row.

Worse yet, most Americans seem to disagree with what the government is doing. According to a recent ABC/WaPo poll, 87% of Americans wouldn’t want to be kept alive in that condition, and 65% believe that, in Schiavo’s specific case, the spouse should have the final word.
