The Globe reports that IATA has ranked the Halifax International Airport, a fairly small airport, best in the Americas. I wouldn’t have expected that, but now that they mention it, it has gotten much better since all the renovations were completed. My only complaint is the traffic; it’s still a logjam trying to drop off or pick up at the main entrances/exits.
Hey, it’s probably the only airport where you can buy a box of lobster and carry it on the plane.
Those lobsters caused trouble for one British guy.
There’s a documentary show here called Airline. It tracks the real-life stories, trials, and tribulations of staff and passengers for Easyjet. It makes for good watching, since people are always tense at airports. I think they made a US version.
On one episode, a British man returned from Canada with a box of Clearwater lobsters. He then had an onward flight from London to wherever he lived in the UK via Easyjet. Easyjet have a no-live-animals policy, however, which they steadfastly extended to the very alive but very boxed-up crustaceans. 🙂
