This Wanda Sykes quote might be the funniest, most politically astute thing I’ve heard all week (except for Kurt Vonnegut’s tear on The Daily Show Tuesday night):

“I don’t think the President should have taken responsibility…. I don’t blame the President. I blame the American people. Y’all knew the man was slow when you voted him in. You can’t blame the blind man for wrecking your car when you’re the one who gave him the keys.”

I’m in a cab, heading down the DVP, listening to the Arcade Fire. Heading home.

Free from the compound, brain bursting with newfound knowledge and memories of friends growing closer in two month time lapse. Listening to brilliance, heading home to my wife. It’s not often we get to feel this alive.

One year down. Three to go. I can’t fucking wait.

I’m a wee bit sore today. After playing basketball Monday night, I played ultimate (frisbee) last night. There were more than 20 of us out there playing, though only a few people knew how. Fun, if a little disjointed and tough because of the wind. At 15-15 we called it a draw.

Last night was the first time we worked a bit late, but it was more fun than work and we still got to the bar in plenty of time. It’s been an easy week so far.
