"I hate playing vampire towns"

This week’s television section of Eye Magazine talks about the influence of indie music on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls…and even 90210 (at least once). My wife will be giddy with excitement. She doesn’t care about the O.C., and for that I applaud her.

  1. Don’t forget Alias which last week played the first mashup (Rapture Riders’ by Blondie v the Doors) i’ve ever heard on TV and Grey’s Anatomy which plays really good Indie stuff.

  2. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve been watching Veronica Mars (my new love) and exclaimed “what song is that?! I love it!”. They have done a great job of picking their music and using it (or the lyrics) as part of the plot. And the karaoke gags are freaking hilarious. Poor, poor Lars. As for having the bands on the show… I think Buffy did it best. The Bronz was around from the beginning and the bands were just there… playin’ music… without any grand “oh look. it’s a dance. and look who’s playing!” nonsense.

Tee Hee. I totally forgot all about The Peach Pit: After Dark! *sigh* 9021ohwhatwasIthinkingwatchingthatcrap!
