Jaysus. Over the weekend I realized that my computer hasn’t been patching itself in months. Turns out I got a little zealous with the firewall and was blocking the service that does the windows updates. I didn’t even have SP2! I just forgot to check it all out after I rebuilt it back in the spring; I told it to keep itself updates and forgot about it. Stupid, stupid Dan.

Uh, about 5 in 7,422 I guess…

Just five songs after my Nomad played Bob Dylan‘s “When The Ship Comes In”, it spun up The Chieftains‘ cover from the 40th anniversary tribute concert in New York.

I’m so looking forward to this movie. Carell’s going to be on The Daily Show tonight; that’ll be…weird.

Today marks T-Bone’s return to the office. Calloo, callay!

If you haven’t watched Band Of Brothers (imdb| rotten tomatoes) yet…what the hell? Get in there. It’s probably the best ten hours of TV you’ll ever sit through.

Once again, not a bad day. Little breakfast, little grocery shopping, little reading, little TV, little visit from the little furry bastards, little cleaning, and finally a little work (which I should be doing right now instead of blogging). Nellie should be home tonight sometime. I wish she and the girls were driving past that pie store we visited back in February. I’d kill for some of that apple pie…

I just watched Eternal Sunsine Of The Spotless Mind again. It’s MUCH less confusing the second time, and even more amazing than I’d remembered.

While going through my downloaded MP3s I heard three albums good enough that I want to buy them:

• Living Things . Black Skies In Broad Daylight
• Pelican . The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw
• The Duke Spirit . Cuts Across The Floor

Obviously local record stores won’t have these (and if they did, it’d be $28.99 a pop), but Amazon has them for a decent price ($13 for the Duke Spirit, but the Living Things disc is $24). I checked eMusic…nothing. No hits. Nada. Maybe it’s time to check out Yahoo’s music service.

[update] I just tried signing up for Yahoo’s music service. Only available in the US. That’s great. Yahuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-seless.

#1 movie at the box office last weekend: The Dukes Of Hazzard. Rotten Tomatoes rating: 17%.

Two movies released Friday that are sure to make the top five this weekend: Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (RT: 10%) and The Skeleton Key (RT: 38%).

I guess I just answered my own question: Hollywood keeps making shit because people will keep going to see it.
