I’m now running a (pretty much) squeaky clean OS, and my IIS troubles seem to be gone. I have a couple of new MS Office issues, but I can probably fix those. Now it’s just a matter of installing all the remaining software and tweaking things to get them where I want them. And also ripping CDs to my new hard drive. I plan to do that today while I work.

Soon, my pretty, soon, you’ll be full of music.

[note: i was talking to my nomad there, not to y’all.]

She Hate Me. And I didn't really care for this movie either, now that you ask.

As with most Spike Lee films, She Hate Me (imdb | rotten tomatoes) didn’t really live up to the message he was trying to convey. He used corporate corruption as the backdrop to his story, but then in the late stages tried to suddenly make it the main focus again. Not as bad as the reviews led me to believe, but ultimately disappointing given how hopeful the first 20 minutes made me.

Good random = happy radioDan

So far this morning my Nomad has served up the following random treats:

  • Guided By Voices . “Gonna Never Have To Die”
  • The Pixies . “Isla De Encanta”
  • The Dandy Warhols . “Hey Check Hey”
  • …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead . “Richter Scale Madness”
  • The Fatales . “Where’d You Get Those Shoes?”

Music like this makes mornings like this feel a little more manageable.

Trust me on this: after five years the inside of a computer case will get very, very dusty. I installed the new 120GB drive last night, and am now backing up data so that I can rebuild the primary drive. It’s one its third OS, and there’re just some leftover NT gremlins that I’ll never get rid of. Add to that an IIS problem that I just can’t seem to fix, a McAfee product that won’t uninstall, and so many rogue registry entries floating around that I can’t be bothered to clean them all out. Hopefully I can get to it this week, and then I can start ripping CDs while I work on the next accounting assignment.
