TTC riders may pass around the Metropass. Not that I don’t use my wife’s anyway.

I’m really hoping that Boston beats New Jersey tonight, and the Raptors just lay down for the Cavs. C’mon, Sam, just start Araujo, Sow, Williams, Cook and Palacio…and leave ’em out.

Yup, I’m addicted to Questionable Content too. Dang. Like I don’t have enough to read.

And it feels so good.
I knew ripping all my CDs to my Nomad would put me back in touch with parts of my music collection that I’d just forgotten about (or never really gotten to), but even the act of ripping them — individually picking up each disc, glancing at the liner notes, reading all the track titles — prompted me to fire up a few specifically. For example, I’d forgotten just how good the Dandy Warhols‘ Dandys Rule OK disc is; ditto Guided By Voices‘ Isolation Drills, Down On The Upside by Soundgarden and Dark Was The Night by Blind Willie Johnson.
It’s been a good experience so far. I’d say I’m listening to more music now than I have in years. The two downsides: 1) my insta-ready mix of 6000 songs makes me less inclined to scan through all the MP3s and “pod”-casts in my download folder, or to tune into woxy; 2) being a good husband I also ripped all of my wife’s CDs onto the Nomad, including her large collection of Madonna, so occasionally I get ambushed by some track from Like A Virgin.

That it’s 24 degrees outside just seems…wrong. Not that I mind the sunshine, but jeezus, it’s the middle of April. I’d be happy with 10 or 12 (which we’re supposed to get by the weekend) and the occasional 16.

Your new papal words for the day:
Cavalleria Rusticana
Two news stories — this one and this one — showed up in the first news feed I looked at today, and I immediately thought of Godfather III. In that movie the pope dies and a conclave is formed to elect a new one, much as we’re seeing now. Also in that movie: Puzo & Coppola recalled real life and had Frederick Keinszig — “God’s Banker” — killed & hung for wronging the Corleones. The real man dubbed “God’s Banker”, Roberto Calvi, was found hung in a similar manner in 1982; today police charged four people with his murder. One of the four charged: a woman named Manuela Kleinzig.
Life imitates art imitates life.

Have we gone insane? Or is it just me?

It’s official. Because of Rocketboom I now have a little crush on Amanda Congdon. I think it’s the way she throws her papers at me.

Weight this week: 219. Not sure how, I’ve been eating too much and haven’t had time to exercise. I’ll be really freakin’ glad when accounting’s done. Checked today: it’s the longest course (‘cept maybe for economics), and I have to think it’s one of the least exciting.
