222 pounds this week. Not so good. Probably has something to do with all the junk I’ve been eating this weekend, and the lack of exercise due to a busy work week and the #@&% accounting assignment. However, I should finish the assignment today so the plan is to get back on the treadmill tomorrow.

Sat on a patio and had a couple of drinks yesterday for the first time this spring. It was niiiiiiiiiiice.

The bodyguard beats the wall

Nellie just watched a “Listed” episode on muchmoremusic (aka “The 80s Channel”) about the 20 best soundtracks of all time:

  1. Saturday Night Fever
  2. The Bodyguard
  3. Purple Rain
  4. Grease
  5. Dirty Dancing
  6. Titanic
  7. Top Gun
  8. Footloose
  9. Flashdance
  10. The Wall
  11. Pulp Kitchen
  12. Pretty In Pink
  13. The Lion King
  14. Rocky Horror Picture Show
  15. 8 Mile
  16. Moulin Rouge
  17. Breakfast Club
  18. Beverly Hills Cop
  19. Do the Right Thing
  20. Tommy

Look, I understand that nowadays MMM just panders to people who actually like 80s movies, but c’mon. Seriously now. Anyway, I fought down the need to laugh & vomit long enough to compile a list of ten soundtracks, any one of which is better than anything* they listed:

  • The Crow
  • City Of Angels
  • Dazed And Confused
  • Dead Man Walking
  • Friday Night Lights
  • High Fidelity
  • O Brother Where Art Thou
  • Romeo & Juliet
  • Singles
  • Stealing Beauty

*except for maybe The Wall, whose status as “soundtrack” is a shaky at best.

Just had lunch with a former colleague. We worked together at Delano, a failed (well, purchased really, but calling it failed is hardly misleading) software company, for about a year and a half. We’ve probably gotten together every few months since we left for other jobs, but it’s odd…we still end up talking about Delano most times. It was quite an experience; certainly the most intense 21 months of my life, and included some the most amazing highs and crushing lows of my working life.

Maybe I’ll rant about it one day.
