Awwwwwwwwwwesome.

“Miramax Films is developing a satirical comedy with the former editor in chief of the Onion. ‘Homeland Insecurity’ will track the misadventures of two Arab-Americans who are mistaken for terrorists while on a business trip to Texas. Robert Siegel will write the screenplay; he has co-written the script for “The Untitled Onion Movie” for Fox-based Regency Enterprises.”

Good morning, Google Spreadsheet.

.:.

I just finished eating breakfast, and I was glad to have some real maple syrup on hand. I had my family send some up for my classmates and I so none of us had to suffer through that nasty-ass table syrup they serve here. I suspect this connection to a maple syrup production had something to do with me being labelled “farm boy” (though that seems to be over now).

Well, unless there’s a miracle, Edmonton has pretty much lost the Stanley Cup finals already. Dwayne Roloson’s out for the series and his backup, Ty Conklin, gave the puck away for the game-winning goal with 30 seconds left. That’s harsh. Maybe Conklin (or Jussi Markannen) can come up with a spectacular & unexpected performance; I hope so, ’cause I want Glen Wesley to lose to the Edmonton Oilers in the finals again after 16 years. Stupid Bruin.

Managed to squeeze in a little basketball after dinner. Just shooting around, all alone in the gym. No better way to relax.

Now, to do some work before heading over to the bar for the 3rd period of the hockey game. Go Oilers!!

Today’s lunch menu including beef goulash, the main ingredient of which was almost certainly the uneaten remainder of last night’s kebabs. Yum.

The first day of marketing is done. This prof is somewhat more engaging than the last one, so there should be no trouble staying awake. No presentation on Thursday, which makes me happy.

Oh, and I somehow acquired the moniker “farm boy” in class today. Hurrah.

"How many tall office towers are there in Toronto?"

I guess it was only a matter of time before a suspected terrorist plot was broken up in Canada; terrorists generally don’t seem to take issue with particular national boundaries so much as with ideologies or religious differences. There was a sense in Canada that we were too small, bland or nice to be targeted by terrorists, but those folks aren’t exactly known for their logical approach to their trade.

So…a big thank you to the investigators who spent time on this and apprehended the suspects. I’m glad they were on the job if the threats are as serious we’ve heard today. That said, here’s hoping they got the right men; with the new counter-terrorism laws, the authorities can hold pretty much anyone for as long as they like on charges of suspected terrorism. It also goes without saying that I hope they got all their men.
Oh, and once again, the Toronto Sun showed their journalistic prowess by saying on the front page that the TTC was a target, when in fact the police have confirmed that it wasn’t. Bravo.
