Here’s the important quote in this entire article:
“No matter what the cause, depression in babies can be treated and because young children are often highly resilient, intervening early can dramatically improve the emotional life of the entire family.” (emphasis mine)
The pharmaceutical industry knows that this has nothing to do with improving the baby’s life, and everything to do with shutting the whining brat up so that mommy can watch Desperate Housewives and daddy can watch the game. That’s the market segment that would be targeted by this.
And no, the pharmaceutical industry doesn’t care. This is the same industry that’s been shilling Ritalin down kids throats for decades now.
Er, shoving not shilling. Had 2 thoughts going there. Maybe I need the Ritalin.
